Second Project Review, 29 November 2024. The CAREPATH Consortium participated in its second review remotely, presenting the advances in the project implementation since the first review.

Fraunhofer presented CAREPATH on MEDICA 2024 in Düsseldorf 11.11.2024 - 14.11.2024 ("MEDICA Messe - Alle Trends der Medizintechnikbranche").

Dr. Yehya Mohamad (Fraunhofer) presented on the 11th of July CAREPATH at ICCHP in the special thematic session STS: “Accessible, Smart, and Integrated Healthcare Systems for Elderly and Disabled People”. He submitted a paper summarizing the submitted publications to this session and will present, among others, CAREPATH as a research project on "Program 24" area of research.

Dr. Yehya Mohamad (Fraunhofer Institute) participated as an expert in the panel of the webinar "VR2Care Webinar - Interactive Technologies for Active and Healthy Living" (24 June 2024), and used the opportunity to promote the CAREPATH project (click here to watch the recording of the webinar).

CAREPATH consortium members published a paper in Frontiers in Medicine, 27 May 2024. This study presents a robust methodology for generating implementable specifications for clinical decision support (CDS) services to automate evidence-based clinical guidelines. The proposed approach, rooted in international standards like CDS-Hooks and HL7 FHIR, aims to enhance the quality and relevance of the generated specifications by fostering collaboration between clinical experts and software engineers

Fraunhofer Institut participated to DMEA 2024 in Berlin, 9-11 April, with an exhibition stand.

In July, Dr. Omid Pournik from the University of Birmingham - School of engineering presented, at the International Conference on Informatics, Management, and Technology in Healthcare (ICIMTH) 2023, Athens, parts of our findings in the CAREPATH PROJECT on "Interoperable E-Health Systems Using Structural and Semantic Interoperability Approaches in CAREPATH."

Gothenburg, Sweden. 22-25 May 2023 - At Medical Informatics Europe 2023, Mert Genkturk, SRDC, presented the paper "Implementation of HL7 FHIR-Based Interoperability Profiles to Manage Care Plans for Multimorbid Patients with Mild Dementia".

CAREPATH Consortium meeting held in Bielefeld, Germany, 3-5 May 2023 - Our partner SKB hosted a Consortium meeting, which took place in Klinikum Rosenhöhe, in the Department for Geriatric Medicine. The meeting included training sessions in preparation for the Technical and Validation Study.

At the Accessibility Day of the Media University in Stuttgart, Germany, 28 April 2023, Yehya Mohamad, Fraunhofer, gave a Lecture on "Opportunities and challenges for future living in an aging population" and presented some of the CAREPATH work, amongst others.

DMEA 2023, Berlin, Germany. 25-27 April 2023. Yehya Mohamad, Fraunhofer, participated in this event and talked about the CAREPATH project in his presentations.

First Project Review, 16 March 2023. After 18 months since the start of the CAREPATH project, the Consortium participated in its first review virtually. We had a productive day presenting and discussing our work with the Project Adviser and two reviewers.

February - A Memorandum of Understanding is being signed between the CAREPATH and VIVIFRAIL to initiate a cooperation between the two projects

From January 2023, a new partner organisation has joined the Consortium. While the partner organisation is new, the members of the team are not. The University of Birmingham is joining the Consortium, with the team from the University of Warwick moving there with Prof. Theodoros Arvanitis being appointed as the new Head of the Department of Electronic, Electrical and Systems Engineering in the School of Engineering.

Second Project General Assembly in Milan, Italy 14-15 December 2022 - The CAREPATH project Consortium will meet physically for the first time in Milan for the 2nd General Assembly and meeting.

At MEDICA 2022 Medical Trade Fair, 14-17 November, Düsseldorf, Germany, Yehya Mohamad, Fraunhofer, has participated in this event and has been talking about the CAREPATH project in his presentations.

Bielefeld, Germany. 16 November 2022. Wolfgang Schmidt-Barzynski, SKB, presented the CAREPATH project to a group of about a dozen General Practitioners in the region, at their quality circle meeting.

Rubén Alcantud Córcoles, SESCAM, gave a presentation on the work in WP6 on "Clinical guidelines and best practices to improve the management of elderly patients with dementia and multimorbidity. A systematic review", at 18th International Congress of the European Geriatric Medicine Society, 28-30 September 2022, London, UK.

Yehya Mohamad and Carlos Velasco from the Digital Health Department at Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information technology (FIT) organized a special track at DSAI, 31 August - 2 September 2022, Lisbona Portugal, on Accessible, Smart, and Integrated Healthcare Systems for Elderly and Disabled People. CAREPATH presented 4 papers.

At ICIMTH July 2022, a conference paper “CAREPATH: Developing Digital Integrated Care Solutions For Multimorbid Patients With Dementia” was presented in Greece by Omid Pournik from the University of Warwick.

At ICCHP-AAATE July 2022, a conference paper “Making person-centred health care beneficial for people with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or mild dementia – results of interviews with patients and their informal caregivers” was presented by Henrike Gappa from Fraunhofer.
